Keep at it, don’t be dissuaded by negativity, don’t think you’re not good enough.

Australia is a land with full of talent, and with the apps and thecnology now we can watch what is going on in the other side of the world. Today we will introduce you Taz, a great youtuber that you should watch, Lets go, Hey TAZ

My name is Taz, I’m an Australian YouTuber who has been making content for about 7 years. I’m a recently enrolled 19 year old university student studying Bachelor of Paramedicine to become a Paramedic after graduation. Hopefully one day I can save lives on the road, but also with my videos. As someone who watched content as a teen I always saw it as an escape and when I got a response from my favourite creators I felt super privileged to know that they appreciated what I was saying. So I’m trying to do that for my viewers. Let them know what’s going on, if I’m struggling let them help me out and if they are struggling I’ll try the same. I want to be able to offer that same ability by creating conversation, talking and supporting everyone. The idea that even one of my videos can help someone is why I make content. But I’m also trying to do more of showing the Australian lifestyle through vlogging, cinematics and photography work, with the essence of everything I’ve mentioned constantly in the back of my mind.

What city or place in the world do you recommend to visit?

My recommendation is a mountain called Falls Creek in particular a run known as Wombats Ramble. I grew up skiing at Falls Creek from the age of 3 and you could always find me skiing this run. I know it like the back of my hand and it has some spectacular views as you go down. Whether you’re a skier or snowboarder or never tried the sport before, give it a go. It is a really easy going run but always makes me feel at home and happy when I’m there. And then that feeling you get on the chair ride back up of complete freedom with some awesome views. Falls Creek is in Victoria, Australia.

“What motivates you to get out of bed in the morning?”

The fact that I’m alive, some people don’t get past year 12 or 10 years old. I’m motivated by the fact that when I wake up, I’m still breathing. I hope.

What is your superpower or spiritual animal? why?

I’ve been told before that I’m much like a wolf, and I guess that makes sense. I like my freedom, but can work well in a team. I’m quite protective of my friends and family, if they are threatened I will likely be there to help. But I also lack trust in myself and others. I hate exposing myself in full, which definitely contributes to why I’m so socially awkward in person, rather than in front of a camera.

Can you tell me about a time when you almost gave up, how did you feel about it and what did you do instead of giving up?’

The time I almost gave up, I was diagnosed with a passing out disorder and epilepsy. Both of which stopped all of my dreams of being a pilot or being a medic with the Defence Forces and serving my country. Life stopped and I felt terrible. I had fallen into a dark hole and I thought I was never going to crawl out. I had sunk so low, I gave up on studying, I gave up on classes, I gave up on feeling, and I looked for every available way out. I gave up on so much. Because in a matter of minutes all the dreams I ever had were shattered. Then after moping around the house for a while. Hating every moment of my existence I remembered one small thing. I remembered I’m alive. It’s the same thing that motivates me every day. The feeling that ‘yeah basically everything I had worked for was ripped from my clutches in a matter of seconds, but my heart still beats’. Also that feeling if I took my life, if I gave up completely who I would leave behind. Taking your own life, it’s an interesting expression; if anything you are taking it from the people who know you. Whether it is one person or twenty, you will be missed. Trust me.

How can you stay motivated to work on something every day?

For a year I ran a constant schedule, uploading a video three days a week. When I went away, I continued to make content. I pre-recorded 6 videos for the time I was away. It was a feeling of I must continue, I’ve promised the 70 subscribers I had at the time, 70 people that I would stay true to them. So I did that. Motivation is hard to come by and sometimes I don’t stay motivated especially when I get a huge creators block. But you learn to find other things to motivate you. Whether it’s that feeling of being alive, working hard or thinking about the end goal. And that end goal will always motivate me because my end goal is to make sure people have someone in their life. I can’t be there for everyone that would be crazy, but in the end if my videos help 1 person. I have achieved something, I have helped, and that’s the best motivation you can get.

What lesson of life did you learn in a difficult way?

I’ve honestly not lived long enough to really see any life lessons. But I guess the big one for me is not enjoying the time I had in high school. I had a rough time like some many others, didn’t have many friends until my final 2 years and I really struggled socially. I remember at the end of last year realising I should have spent more time enjoying the time as a kid before growing up. Because once you’re out in the world it’s really difficult to go back to things you used to be able to do. So what I’m saying is I wish I spent more time in the present, then wanting to grow up, because now all I want to do is go back to being a kid. Live in the present not the future, it’s good to aim, but don’t try and escape the first 18 years of your life.

What advice do you give to someone who wants to be like you someday? Actor, Singer, Dragqueen.

You are a YouTuber as soon as you start making videos. Keep at it, don’t be dissuaded by negativity, don’t think you’re not good enough. Because it’s not true. If your heart is in it. If you are making content because you want to and not just to be famous or for the money, then keep at it. It takes time and by no way am I a successful YouTuber but I love what I do and I know that I am a Creator, just like you can be, if you believe and push through the hard stuff.

Can you think of a moment when the impossible became possible?

Nothing comes to mind, I think I’ve had moments in my life where I thought something wasn’t going to happen and it did. But that came down to patience and resilience. Not so much as a moment that changed really quickly. So no.

What steps should you follow to get closer to your goal?

First up, you got to have a plan. You need to know what you are looking for and what your aim is. So if that’s a flow chart, list or some other random form of plan you need to have a guide. Make as in depth as you can because in the end the more details on the page the more prepared you are to start. From there it’s sticking to the guide, making sure you’re taking each step of that goal and doing it, not just skipping over it. As you fulfil your mini goals make sure you are rewarding yourself for a good job and evaluating what you could have done better. Continue this until you reach the 100% completion mark. It may take a while but it is definitely worth it. So remember to plan, prepare, evaluate and reward throughout the process. Good Luck!

What is your life slogan, a sentence that motivates you and identifies you?

A teacher I had in year 12 once said “It is what it is”. This man who had been through to hell and back in the Army and life in general always had the right word for the time. And as it is, this line links into my own little slogan, that was sort of born from a movie from 2005; Sky High a clichéd superhero movie about a kid who doesn’t know about his powers until he is put under pressure and his friends are in danger. The line itself is a bit of a joke but I always felt there was something else about it. “When life gives you lemons, make apple juice.” It helps to see the scene, but sometimes life gives you everything but what you expected and you need to be able to move and change depending on the circumstances. You need to be able to adapt to anything. Adaptability is what we thrive on and it’s what I try to aim for. So combining the 2 lines you get an overall feeling of when life doesn’t go your way, take what is left and make something useful from it.
