Movies That Would Be Completely Different if Facebook Existed When They Were Made

1) Mean Girls.mean girls

Being mean isn’t about who you sit with in the cafeteria anymore… it’s all about who’s photos you’re tagged in, how many likes your status gets, and omg Regina didn’t even share Gretchen’s meme about her!

2) The Matrix.

matrix

The idea of trying to get off the matrix just doesn’t make sense these days. We are all doing whatever we can to get plugged into the matrix and freak out when we are free from it for a few hours.

3) Jurassic Park.

JP-MoviePoster

Imagine many more people would get eaten as they take 20 selfies trying to get the right angle in their dinosaur selfie.

4) Fight Club.

figh club

The first rule of fight club – you don’t talk about fight club – would need to be followed up an amendment: you don’t ‘check in’ to fight club.

5) The Blair With Project.

blair project

Completely unrealistic these days that any group of twenty-somethings would go camping in the woods that far away from a wifi hotspot.

6) Speed.

speed

Someone on that bus would’ve had a facebook friend that knows how to defuse that bomb.

7) Single White Female.

Firstly, you don’t find housemates in the newspaper, and secondly, you do so much social media stalking… I mean online research… that you know everything about them before they move in.

8) Almost Famous.

single white female

A teenager touring with a band, thinking he’s so cool, trying to get an article published. That’s not even a story anymore. A lot of people think having 500 facebook friends makes them almost famous, and we all live like rockstars according to how we present ourselves on social media.

9) The Breakfast Club.

breakfast clubThe original story: a group of teenagers with seemingly nothing in common get detention where they spend hours talking, arguing, getting up to mischief, and becoming friends. The social media era story: a group of teenagers silently read facebook, then read the same comments from the same people on twitter, then read the same comments from the same people (with pictures!) on instagram. No talking
