What does a Colombian woman think of English men?

What does a Colombian woman think of English men?

Charming? Bitter? Grumpy? Festive? What’s up with them?

Before starting I want to clarify that what I’m about to say does not necessarily applies to every single English guy. It’s a general outlook of what I could observe as an individual.

I’ve had the opportunity to visit UK and during my travels I’ve known a lot of interesting and fun

people. Among them I’ve met a lot of English guys and I can say from my experience that English men have an intrinsic je ne sais quoi that makes them unique and amazing.

In general we think that English people are bitter and grumpy but I was pleasantly surprised the first time I got to hang out with actual English people. Even though they do manage a weird sense of humor that the majority doesn’t find funny, they do know how to have fun and somehow, find a way to make you laugh. Parties, trips and awesome music are a great part of their lives and you can notice that when talking to them.

They always have something interesting to say because they try to live the most interesting lives! English men are globetrotters, explorers, but they’re also artistic and creative guys. Their historical relationship with rock makes  them great musicians and that makes them mysterious and why not  say … sexy. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a rockstar?

They are cold but friendly and once you’ve earned their trust personal space loses its importance. They have the rare but awesome ability  to make  a party out of nowhere with just a couple beers and a cigarette package, somehow a bunch of people will appear and celebrate.

They are intellectuals but not boring. You can talk to them about everything from the last youtube trend to French literature and they will always know what you’re talking about. English men are charming and not only because of the accent, they can be real gentlemen if they feel like it.  It’s true that not all of them are like Colin Firth in Bridget Jones’s Diary but in general they are nice and lovely people who make England a little bit less cold as a country.

Despite all I’ve previously depicted there’s a thing about English guys I don’t understand: their concept of dancing. It’s like they are completely numb from the waist down on the dancefloor, especially if they are dancing tropical rhythms like salsa or merengue. But at least they don’t know the word embarrassment and aren’t afraid to try new things, even if they know they’ll suck at it and that’s just adorable.

Good job England! You do you!
